Another Season (Almost) in the Books!

As we get ready to wrap up our Spring League this weekend, it's hard not to look back and smile at everything our Club WHY community accomplished during the 2025-2026 season.

What started as an idea to create more opportunities for women to learn, play, and belong continues to grow into something special.

This winter, our mixed-level Winter League brought together players from a wide range of hockey backgrounds. Some had played for years, while others were still learning the game. The result was exactly what we hoped for: competitive hockey, plenty of laughs, new friendships, and countless moments of growth.

The league delivered exciting games right through to the playoffs, with players stepping up, trying new positions, building confidence, and discovering that hockey is a lot more fun when you're surrounded by teammates who want to see you succeed.

When spring arrived, we decided to shake things up.

Our Spring League featured newly drafted teams, bringing together players who may not have played alongside one another before. The change created fresh team dynamics, new connections, and opportunities for players to challenge themselves in different ways. Throughout the season, we've watched teams grow and players gain skill and confidence.

Of course, none of this happens without the people who give their time and energy to make it all possible.

To our incredible coaches and volunteers: thank you.

Thank you for showing up week after week. Thank you for answering questions, running drills, cheering from the bench, and creating an environment where women feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged. Your passion and commitment are the foundation of everything we do.

And to our players, especially our beginners, we are so proud of you.

Learning something new as an adult takes courage. Walking into an arena for the first time, trying on equipment you've never worn before, stepping onto the ice, and allowing yourself to be a beginner can feel intimidating. Yet season after season, women continue to take that chance.

Because of that bravery, our community continues to grow.

Every confident player in our league was once a beginner. Every strong stride, successful pass, and first goal started with someone willing to try.

As this season comes to a close, we're already looking ahead to what comes next.

This fall, we'll once again be welcoming a new group of women to the game through our beginner program. Whether you've never played before or you've been thinking about giving hockey a try, we hope you'll join us.

Stay tuned for registration details and upcoming announcements.

The future of women's hockey in Yarmouth continues to look bright, and we can't wait to see who's joining us next.

See you at the rink.
